The mission of the Great Prophet

Muhammad Abul Hussain

Introduction

Abraham, the father of the Muslim nation, sacrificed his life to eradicate the curse of paganism and polytheism, one day the holy Kaaba was made the center of paganism and polytheism by their descendants - the Quraish of Makkah. That Abraham (pbuh) was thrown into the fiery furnace on the charge of destroying the idol; One day, his descendants placed hundreds of idols inside the Kaaba itself and turned the Kaaba into a center of shirk. The Kaaba, which was the center of Tauhid, was the place where the worship of one God and the utterance of the words of Tauhid were seen as an insult to the Kaaba. For the crime (?) of praying in the House of Allah Abu Jahl attempted to crush the head of Rasulullah with a heavy stone. The Quraysh chiefs were ambushed by the terrorists for announcing Tawheed in the courtyard of the Kaaba. How is such an incredible and unimaginable decline possible? This is possible because the great mission that Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) came to earth with, the mission of his life, the great ideal he left behind was once lost among his ummah. His mission, even to his descendants, deviated from the path of ideals he had left behind.

In every age, paganism has taken a common place among the followers of the Prophet; and that is to worship a particular person or to impose divinity on an individual.Paganism takes place when the individual grows larger than the ideal. For example, in the absence of the Prophet at first, there was a relaxation in his ideals, knowledge and teachings. And devotion occupies this place. Because no knowledge is required for devotion. Who can express devotion at will.

This deviation, of course, did not happen overnight. Little by little, hundreds and thousands of years of perversion and deviation at one time incredibly led the people of Makkah to the complete opposite of their ideals. The same thing happened with Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), Jesus (peace be upon him) and other previous prophets and messengers. In all cases the same scene. In most cases, in the absence of the ideals that God's beloved servants, the prophets and messengers, have struggled to establish throughout their lives, the ummah has at one time begun to go in the complete opposite direction of the ideology they have followed. In fact, this decline took place only when the teachings and ideals of the Prophet completely departed from them. The consciousness of what mission the prophets brought to the world, what pursuit and struggle they went through was completely lost from them. Needless to say, the life style of the Prophets, the reflection of their struggling life, as long as the people were aware of it, they have no doubt followed the path shown by the Prophets.

Thus at one stage devotion became greater than idealism. The question of why and what mission the prophet brought to the world, what was his invitation, what was the main purpose of his struggle, what programs and methods were adopted by the prophets and messengers to implement the ideals became secondary to the devotees and the question of their dignity grew. . What were the prophets and messengers of Allah, were they friends or relatives (Naujubillah), were they sons or was he himself Allah (Naujubillah), at one time these questions became bigger. In this way, the Jews were able to make Allah their close relative and the Christians were able to make Isha (AS) the son of Allah by following the path of Milad, dignity and devotion rather than the way of life of the Prophets.

The same pattern has been introduced in our society at the present time as well. What mission did the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) come to earth with? What was his call? From the bloodshed, for some reason the Prophet accepted the immense sacrifice of his own life and the safety of his companions, these questions have become secondary today. Instead, in mosques, mosques, house-to-house milad mehfils and waz mehfils, the statement is how great the Messenger of Allah was, how dignified he was, whether he was really a human being or a very human being in human form, whether Allah would have created this world without him.

In fact, in order to fulfill the duty of calling humanity to the path of Allah, it is necessary to first realize the mission of the Prophet. Because, any work has a goal or purpose. If we are not aware of the purpose of our work, then we will not be able to realize the rightfulness of this work, just as we will not be able to realize its significance and importance. And since the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the ultimate believer in all matters of religion, it is necessary to know why or what mission the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to earth to carry out. What responsibilities did he come to earth with, what was the purpose of his life, what was his ideal, what did he call people to, what was the message and content of his invitation, and what programs did the Prophet take to carry out his mission? Therefore, if he does not know what method of action he has adopted, the da'wah work is bound to turn into a mere aimless activity and the right result can never be obtained from the aimless work. Because life without a goal is like a boat without a boatman.

In the name of Islam, in the name of the ideology of the Prophet, in the name of many opinions and paths, in the multi-faceted activities of many parties and organizations can be seen in our society today. Even bombings and extremism in the name of Islam have come to the fore. But the ideology of the Prophet is one and it is very clear. Today, factionalism and violence between Islamic parties is hurting and embarrassing the Islam-loving masses, while the Messenger of God was a symbol of unity. The Aws and Khazraj tribes forgot about their perpetual tribal disputes and enmities because of their rightful adoption of the ideals of the Prophet.

The root cause of so much disunity and division among Muslims today is the inevitable consequence of deviation from Prophet's Sirat, his great way of life. If we know the mission of the Prophet properly, if we can align ourselves with his philosophy of life, then in the light of the divine ideals he brought, we too can unite like a leaden wall, bring back our golden past, bring back the honor, glory of that great nation of Muslim Ummah. And the tradition, the superiority that was declared by Allah Almighty Himself. In the Holy Qur'an, Allah Almighty declares:

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ ١١٠

‘You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah.

What was the mission of the Prophet or what responsibilities did he fulfill? As it has been described in detail in his biography or Sirat books, as well as in the books of Hadith there are detailed descriptions of every word and deed of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

However, the biggest and final document is the great book Al-Quran. The Holy Al-Quran tells in detail about the mission that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to the world with and what the great Lord Almighty sent him to do. Therefore, we will take the word of God as the final criterion in the analysis of the life mission of the Prophet and take our discussion forward.
